Right now it is impossible to say "I want my profile public, but I don't want to highlight activity on my profile from public repos X, Y, and Z." and I think this would be really desirable for a large number of devs. The way this would work would be a per-repo setting (including external public repos that you happen to have activity in) determining whether it should be shown in your public activity on your profile. I would be happy to beta test this feature!!

Right now the unfortunate solution for people in this edge case is to simply set the entire profile to private instead of being able to turn off public activity for a select few public repos.

One way this could work, UI-wise, would be right above the activity graph where the cog is, have one of the options on the cog be a multi-select/drop-down called "Exclude public activity from: [drop-down of all repos you have ever had activity in]". Or this could just be in profile settings, or both. I don't think it would be hard to implement.

I am aware of a large number of people who are currently keeping their profiles private until this feature is added
