Overview

Markdown formatting for alerts is great, and that for expandable sections is great too;
however, the markdown doesn't work properly when both features are combined.

I totally love these basic and advanced markdown formatting features that help me organize content in my documents.
I use the alerts frequently to highlight important information for impatient readers, and the expandable containers
are great for hiding details that not everyone needs to read.

However, I was just recently trying to combine the two to highlight some important information in the middle of
my technical details section. No luck.

The specs specifically say that headers and code blocks work within sections, and I assumed that all markdown would
generate the same way within a section as it does outside of a section. However, that is apparently not true.

As discussed in this thread, it appears this behavior is broken in a more general case than just the expandable sections.

I would love to be able to use the full set of markdown from within the expandable feature boxes!

It would be helpful for Alerts to be more flexible when it comes to residing in collapsed sections (or indented sections).

Thankfully the docs do state they cannot be nested ... but this fact limits and minimizes their (Alerts) effectiveness.

⚠️ In particular with ordered lists (numeric bullet points), the list starts renumbering if an Alert is between bullets.

In the above situation, this is a huge drag when an Alert is needed and yet auto-numbering bullets are also handy. (So at this point it is manually numbered bullets to get the job done.)
