Specify CODEOWNERS for certain branches only

Is it currently possible to configure GitHub such that the CODEOWNERS for the main and dev branches are notified and selected for review on Pull Requests to these branches, while preventing the notification of CODEOWNERS when merging feature branches into other branches?

We often use WIP-branches which we also merge using PRs into feature branches so multiple devs can work on the same feature. Using this technique all the CODEOWNERS are notified and marked for review also for those PRs which are merely for the devs to organize themselves better.
