I got up this morning fired up Ubuntu and my surprise it bounced back to Chromeos. Using sudo CROUTON_BRANCH=silence crouton -r focal -t xfce. Tried developer mode and doing everything over again but, it did not work. I apparently got an update over night and that might have messed things up.
