When I tried updating from 1.7.9 to 1.8 I got the following error after prompting for database update: After reloading the page, pressing F5, the update completed successfully without getting an error. |

There are numerous issues about this particular MySQL error. #2115 should give you a good sense of how to prevent it from happening in the future. @ozh is there a clean way to re-run the database upgrade steps? |

Unearthing this old thread – however, to whom it concerns: Same issue – desired upgrade from 1.7.9 to 1.8 on PHP 7.4, MariaDB 10.11 (not 10.1), but seeing the same error message. Solution for me: Upgrade straight from 1.7.9 to 1.8.2: In that case, the database upgrade went through for me. |
