Currently, after #45, petitboot reacts to IANA PEN of IBM (2) in the boot initiator mailbox parameter data that it reads from BMC over IPMI. There may be other places where PEN for IBM is used. I think this is not correct as OpenPOWER Firmware is a community project of OpenPOWER Foundation and is not limited to just IBM.

However, there is no IANA PEN for OpenPOWER Foundation.

So this issue is for discussion on this matter.

Sounds good to me. Allocating the PEN sounds like something that the OpenPOWER systems software workgroup should drive. Are you signed up to that?

I'm not aware of anything like that, so I think I'm not signed up to that. Allocating the PEN is a very easy and free of charge procedure. It requires just an e-mail and name of the contact responsible for the PEN on the applicant's side.

OK, I'm happy to do that, on behalf of the OpenPOWER foundation, if you like.

Do you have an e-mail @open-power.org or @openpowerfoundation.org ?

OK, we've put in a request for a PEN through IANA. Will keep you updated on that.

Great! I think we now need to change the OEM code throughout OPFW to this new one.
