Problem to Solve

Omega block times have increased over time, with two significant steps:

  • 6 Sep: Correlated with validator set increases
  • 12 Sep: Correlated with increase in verify_vote_extension ABCI++ rate.

Proposed Solution

Investigate and find source of increased block period. Identify a way to fix it.
