It is possible to implement index lookup in JS backed by sql.js-httpvfs where the SQLite file can be stored on a static file server like GitHub Pages or the IPFS itself.

@ibnesayeed Can you provide some use cases for this? Also, can you provide some details on why this might be better than the current approach?
