Goal: Create a sensible image from the spectral band data
What should our method do?
Allow us to see ice
Possibly uses a cloud mask to smartly deal with cloudy pixels
How do we do it?
For the multispectral (IMG and MOD) data, we open and possibly combine a subset of the available bands within the netCDF files
For the day-night band data, there is only one band which is more like grayscale
What questions or issues remain?
For the multispectral (IMG and MOD, not DNB) files, is there an optimal single band or do we first want to create a true color image? For tracking, we may be working with grayscale images anyway
For creating true color, is this Satpy example helpful? There is also this Satpy tutorial and associated github
