The palette starts with an empty string. In the contract palette it's 000000, which I image corresponds to 00000000 (transparent) but without the alpha channel, since there's a duplicate 000000 on the contract palette.

If I got that right, I think the first value in the nouns-assets package palette should be 00000000 for correctness, or else I have to include the transparent color manually if I am to check if a PNG with transparency conforms to the classic nouns palette.
