For each stored tab, its history should be saved and restored automatically along with the associated window.

Is this possible?? I read in the description of another extension that Chrome has a limitation where this can't be accessed. I hope that has been lifted by now!! I'd reall REALLY like this feature. I think that'd make Simple Window Saver the best session manager for Chrome. :D

I just searched Chromium's issue tracker and found issue #41321 which seems to indicate that per-tab histories are not available yet. The current Tab API doesn't look helpful in this regards either; nor does the History API that provides a global (i.e., not tab-specific) view on previously browsed URLs to my understanding.

trusktr, maybe you want to star that issue to help with drawing more attention to it.

Slightly different – this is a feature suggestion to remember the back/forward history for each tab in a saved window.
