Hello,
just noticed chrome updated the extension automatically, and... bad surprise... all my saved windows are gone 🤦

Is there any way to recover this? Thinks like that render a useful extension nearly useless ...

I'm really sorry to hear that. There haven't been any recent updates to the extension, but it's possible that an update to Chrome broke something.

Unfortunately I haven't touched Simple Window Saver for several years now, so it's probably gotten less reliable over time as Chrome has changed. As much as I'd like to keep it up to date, it's just not something that's a priority for me right now.

You can take a look at the source code to see how the windows are stored in localStorage, in case that helps you recover them.

... and... Chrome did it again 😵‍💫
Well this really sucks! Is there any chance to implement some kind of backup automated/export or at least backup to a file that can be backed-up by user and being used for data-recovery?! Using only local-storage may be great for "day usage", but at the end of day it's kind of kick in face if something like that happens and ton's of windows saved for "later work" are simply blown in the wind.

update ... luckily figured our... obvisouly I was able to recovery the data that was "unavailable" due to some waist chrome lock file in the profile:

(Replace {{profileDir}} with absolute path to your profile in linux/mac)

find {{profileDir}} -type f -name 'SingletonLock' -delete

Please Nick, for the love of creating harmony in this world, we need you to update this. It's the only extension of its kind and noone thought to make another similar one in 13 years!!!
