Research if more can be done to validate units. For instance by trying to convert the units stated in the unit attribute to a sensible measure according to the NeXus type through a library such as UDunits.

UDUnits has own dependencies: libexpat is a streaming XML parser. UDUnits has an own database stored in XML files. On Windows, it only seems to compile user mingw. And only a 32-bit version of that. The last version appears to be from 2017. Is there still maintenance? A brief look at the API reveals that a unit system has to be provided for parsing a unit.
Summing it up, I have a bad feeling about units validation through udunits and will only proceed if the NIAC asks me to do so.
