[BUG] When installed over Garuda Linux Dr460nized, Snapper and System Maintenance no longer show notifications in Hyprland #603

Describe the bug
Garuda Linux (Dr460nized edition) comes with Snapper and has a System Maintenance app.
Normally, when you choose to rollback to a Snapper snapshot, the system reboots to that snapshot and you get an on-screen notification when you log in that warns you about being booted into a snapshot.
Similarly, when system maintenance is needed (e.g., you have outdated snapshots, you need to update your system, etc.), the Garuda System Maintenance tool displays a little tray icon that warns you about these things.
After installing the ML4W dotfiles and logging into Hyprland, these 2 things no longer work. If I log into the Plasma session, they work still normally.
To Reproduce
ml4w-hyprland
(I am using the-git
package)To verify how the Snapper notification should work, you can repeat steps 8+9 and then log into Plasma rather than Hyprland. Not really sure how to see the System Maintenance notification in action.
Expected behavior
Given that the ML4W are said to work under Garuda Linux (in your installation video it looks like you're using Garuda Linux Dr460nized too), Garuda's toolset should keep working.
Screenshots
Here's an example of the Snapper notification that you get when you boot into a snapshot under a Plasma session:
I don't have a screenshot of what the system maintenance tray icon looks like, but the configuration options it offers are the following:
