Bug description

When installing the Mojo extension for VSCode, I get the error Couldn't install the MAX SDK for VS Code.

Steps to reproduce

I am not sure to what extent the issue is reproducible. I simply installed VSCode and extension and it did not work.

System information

- WSL on Windows 10
- max 24.5.0 (e8aacb95)
- Modular version 24.5.0
- mojo 24.5.0 (e8aacb95)
- VSCode extension version v2024.10.1005 (nightly)

I think it has to do with my employer, who blocks the connection when downloading the software. (This happens, e.g., when I update mojo). I am not sure if anything can be done by Modular to fix the issue. My only request would be that the cause of the MAX SDK could not be installed would be communicated. It should be easy to say that the extension failed to load data.
(Btw. this is FischerUFZ writing from a different account...).

This looks like a network or firewall configuration issue. Please re-open if it isn't the case.

Hi @FischerUFZ , I'm the maintainer of the VS Code extension. I'm sorry for responding a bit late, but I live in Florida and these past 2 weeks have been very complicated because of the hurricane, but I'm back at work finally.
The issue that you mention has been identified by several other users and I'll be working this week on a fix for this. I have some ideas in mind to make the VS Code extension less reliant on downloads, while at the same time making downloads more robust.
Please give me a few days to fix this.
