Problem running mfsplit - "file already open"

Hi,

I am running into an issue using the flopy model splitting functionality.

I am following this example in the flopy documentation: https://flopy.readthedocs.io/en/3.4.2/Notebooks/mf6_parallel_model_splitting_example.html

I am running the code in JupyterLab and have run the model successfully as a single model.

The code to run the mode is the same as given in the example:

new_sim = mfsplit.split_model(split_array)

temp_dir = TemporaryDirectory()
workspace = Path("temp")

new_ws = workspace / "opt_split_models"
new_sim.set_sim_path(new_ws)
new_sim.write_simulation()
success, buff = new_sim.run_simulation(silent=False, use_async=False)
assert success

All the packages write successfully however, I get the following error with then leads to an Assertion Error:

ERROR REPORT:

  1. Could not open "flow_0.sto" on unit 1080. File already open on unit
     1006. Specified file status OLD. Specified file format FORMATTED.
     Specified file access SEQUENTIAL. Specified file action READ. IOSTAT
     error number -1. STOP EXECUTION in subroutine openfile().

AssertionError: 

The mfsim.lst file is attached and shows that the files for the "flow_0.***" are being opened twice, however only the .sto file is causing the issue.

Pausing syncing by OneDrive resolved the problem.
