Mac OS: Library not loaded libprotobuf.23.4.0.dylib #1306
Comments
I think you probably want to file this with homebrew; I think it's likely to be an issue in homebrew's dependency management unrelated to Mosh. |
Isn't it |
Mosh requires whatever version of protobuf it was linked against. Homebrew is the one doing the linking. If Homebrew upgraded and renamed protobuf (or any other library), it needs to relink the executables that depend on it. This is maybe not "package management 101," but definitely "package management 102" or so. :-) |

I'm on a latest (as of now) Mac OS Sonoma 14.2.1 and recently ran
brew update
andbrew upgrade
.Since then I cant start
mosh-server
with missing libprotobufmosh
andmosh-server
has been installed throughbrew
. I tried reinstallingprotobuf
and thenmosh-server
, but that didnt do much.I can't find
protobuf@23
on homebrew anymore and latestprotobuf
points to 25.2.Any ideas how to get
mosh-server
working again? The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
