Using hashed UIDs (+ PROJECTNAME) to identify unique datasets works well inside the clinic (research PACS and clinical PACS). If we want to provide data for people outside of the clinic we need a full anonymization (no coupling list). This type of exporting the data should generate novel participant/study/series and image identifiers. It should also be able to transfer meta-data stored in RIS. Simple things like age and gender, but also complex things like FreeSurfer vertex measures and GWAS vectors.
