Problems selecting text in Chrome

When WordNav is installed, I have trouble selecting text in Chrome.
For example, writing this sentence, if I select the words this sentence with Control+shift+right, I hear "For example", followed by for example being unselected shortly after. I haven't modified anything except restoring Control+Windows+arrows for virtual desktop switching.
Disabling the addon in Chrome fixes it.

Version: WordNav 1.8
Chrome: Version 108.0.5359.125 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Current implementation of cursor navigation for Chrome is very hacky due to this issue: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1260726#c10 Most likely you are observing one of side effects of that hacky implementation. I would appreciate if you could leave a comment on chromium issue page to help boost visibility.
