I know this bug, never took time to fix it...
By the time I write the detection screen code, I had some real troubles because sometimes I wasn't getting coherent infos between Qt, cg driver and edid detection...
But I guess that with a newer version of the driver than the one I was testing at that time you could get rid of all that ugly code...
I also guess you'll be able to calibrate both screens on linux (last time I checked that was possible with xinerama option but using this option made katana freeze :p).
It happens on my machine, an OpenSUSE, when the second display is off.
I am investigating right now.
