Inside WSL Ubuntu, GUI apps stopped working after new CPU install.
After several hours of troubleshooting, I determined it's almost the exact problem described at wslg#877 microsoft/wslg#877
(cannot open display: :0, /tmp/.X11-unix empty without symlink)
Except I'm getting "Illegal instruction at address 0x7fed3c8ac259" with a new Intel Core i7-14700K.
I've had to disable the CPU integrated display adapter to get WSLg working again, which is less than ideal, since I generally use both the NVIDIA card and the CPU integrated graphics for separate monitors.
Posting here for others. It's possible this resulted from overclocking configuration, or it's something Intel needs to fix.
Repro Steps
Install Intel Core i7-14700K
Open WSL Ubuntu
Try to run a GUI app
Expected Behavior
GUI app launches
Actual Behavior
$: cannot open display: :0
