Sorry for the late reply. No, that did not help. I see the exact same "Element not found." error after it finishes the download.

No, that does not work. It attempts the install and fails partway through.

I just got a new computer but can't install WSL on an up-to-date fresh Windows 11. "Element not found". No permutation of --web-download and administrative shell, or downloaded MSI, works.

CustomAction InstallMsix returned actual error code 1603 (note this may not be 100% accurate if translation happened inside sandbox)

Looks like Windows Update is struggling as well

I downloaded the MSI package mentioned in the issue mentioned above. It didn't look like it worked (the installer window just disappeared) but afterwards wsl --update worked so the issue seems solved for me as well :)
