Unable to access shared windows drive

I have installed wsl linux, in which I am able to access the c drive and other drives within linux shell

However, the same folder when I wish to access in windows through netowork share it says permission denied, I don't wish to use it as c:\ but as \wsl$\mnt\c so that all the npm install etc works fine as node is installed in ubentu not on windows machine.

tried this way of mounting, but that does not seem to have any impact

sudo mount -t drvfs C: /mnt/c

Is there a way to configure the samba server installed in wsl to expose mount directories to network share as they are

i.e I am unable to visit to this \wsl$\mnt\c folder through file explorer on windows
