I've been playing around with WSL2, and of course one of the first things to try is to get a Factorio server running.
Getting a VM up and the server running is easy, however I have not been able to figure out the networking. Server reports connection to pingpong and I can see that in wireshark, however I can't see the server on LAN/ the server browser.
I have been cheking for the LAN connection from a different computer than the VM host, as well as the VM host.
I have tried firewall rules for 34197 through the windows firewall, ufw is off in the VM (ubuntu 22.04), just for giggles I have also allowed 34197 through ufw, just in case ufw allow 34197/UDP
and have tried a portproxy
in .wslconfig.
Next thing to try is bridging adapters, but as far as I've read I shouldn't have to do that, especially with mirrored networking.
Any thoughts? For what it's worth, I can connect to OpenFactorioServerManager on localhost:8080 from the windows machine.

and have tried a portproxy
(connectaddress is windows/linux VM IP) with WSL in regular and mirrored networking mode (have also run portproxy with listenaddress=0.0.0.0)
As well as trying to let it through the HyperV firewall
Have also tried
in .wslconfig.
