Expected behavior

For this route OTP should return a safe route via Tübinger Straße like this:

Observed behavior

OTP suggests a detour over streets which are longer and apparently less safe that the direct route:

Version of OTP used (exact commit hash or JAR name)

I took a look at this today. Tübinger Str. is tagged with vehicle=destination which includes bicycles. If you switch to the noThru view you can see that no vehicles are allowed to use it as a through road.

If you start on the road (https://tinyurl.com/2jbaztj4) then you can use it.

Since it is explicitly tagged as bicycle street, I'm assuming the tag should be motor_vehicle=destination, instead.

Am I seeing this correctly?

While the way could be tagged with motor_vehicle=destination, the usual interpretation is that more specific modes override more generic ones. Since it is tagged with bicycle=designated, this IMHO should override vehicle=destination
