Based on conversations and collaborations with Fabien @ Snapshot, the Optimism Foundation, and others, I believe that DAO data, in the future, will be deeply multi-perspective. That is, the DAO itself will publish a daoURI exposing metadata about itself, but other entities, e.g. Snapshot, will also publish daoURIs (or equivalent data) about that DAO, or the Optimism Foundation will publish and manage a daoURI on behalf of Optimism DAO, and that this is fundamental to how DAO data will be shaped.
For example, DAOs themselves may not be able to efficiently maintain some aspects of their data, in which case Snapshot or Boardroom could step in, in a permissionless way, to publish trustworthy information about the DAO.
DAO data will be more attestation-based, more decentralized, and more synthetic—in the sense of synthesized from many sources.
Key question: how does this change the infrastructure we need to build for daoURI though?
