<p> Mattis Koh is a MSc Mechanical Engineering student at the ETH Zürich, currently writing his thesis at the MIT Self-Assembly Lab on designing 3D printed active chainmail structures. His interests are multidisciplinary and focuses on the intersection between engineering and design. An important aspect is finding the link between theoretical (and mainly digital) research with the physical by fabricating prototypes. Previous research and work has been on developing innovative fabrication techniques and 4D printing (active 3D printing). His fields of interest are; 3D/4D (multimaterial) printing, computer simulations, digital fabrication, product development, robotics, parametric design and architecture.

Prior to his master's Mattis attended the TU Delft in the Netherlands where he completed his BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
