XML Support in the Browser

How do we implement extensive XML Support in the Browser, that supports any vocabulary?

Could be build on top of Web Components? Could we be inspired by what CETEIcean already started (TEI in the Browser using Web Components)? Lets start by establishing the status of today’s XML support in each of the most used browsers and build a plan from there.
