Question about versioning

This is really about the project itself - it looks like there is only a single version of this which is 0.5 and it was released quite a while ago, with lots of changes between now and then. If we're going to use this in a project, should we just be pointing to the main branch, or will you begin using and maintaining semantic versioning at some point?

Looks like a promising project, looking forward to kicking the tires.
