I have a lot of files in /public after building locally.

@birkskyum I am not super familiar yet with Astro, but can we use a dist directory for output instead?

We already use a /dist folder for the output.

These files were generated by hugo, and show up now as "new files" because they aren't covered by the current .gitignore. Discarding these files should solve the problem.
