On board preferences cause model preview area to blank

What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Machine - On Board Preferences
2. Close it

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Main windows in model show up. The model doesn't reappear and have to select view or other windows to reset the view.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
