Problem pretty much above. I'm on Ubuntu! What information do you need, if any? :)

I'm also running Ubuntu, and I haven't had any problems with not being able to ping (It's been moved to the ` key, next to "1", unless you don't have a US QWERTY keyboard, where ping has problems.), however, SPACE+TAB is no-longer the scoreboard, and has instead been moved to SPACE+H.

I'm assuming you have the latest version of the config files?

Hi, yes. I have the latest version. I use the german keyboard layout, and it does not work. I use the standard layout, and it does not work either. Thanks for the hint with the scoreboard, by the way.

The ping issues are mentioned in the FAQs

the dota_remap_alt_key command has some inconsistencies with some keys

But it worked before. Why has it stopped working? Is there any solution?

It is probably because the new Reborn engine doesn't have all the foreign key codes implemented correctly.

You mean they removed correct implemented drivers? I don't think so, to be honest. There might be another problem. Would be great if someone from Germany can try to verify this matter. As stated, I use Ubuntu 14.04

I can't bind either in Kubuntu 15. I also tried usinginput_button_code_is_scan_code 1`, but that doesn't help. I guess it has to do something with the keyboard layout being able to do crazy stuff like this: ŵŷẑûîôô⁹⁸⁵²

That's likely the case. If you don't need that key to do crazy things like that I think you can disable the international compatibility to fix that, though it's very understandable for a lot of people to not want to turn that off.

I do not have those items on my keyboard. I have a normal german keyboard layout, long supported. By the way, I found a fix.

Pressing ALT + ^ (top left on my layout) makes it possible to X and Pressing ALT + ^, releasing ALT but holding ^ makes it possible to ping.

SPACE + H show screenboard.

Is this behaviour intended?

SPACE+H showing the scoreboard is intended, the behaviour of ALT and ` is not however.

New keyboard (Cherry MX Board 3.0), same problem. This bug has nothing to do with keyboard layouts, something might have changed. If you run Dota2 on Linux, how can you ping? Maybe its a bugged config on my side (I configured ^ to be the Ping).

Can you show me a keymap of your keyboard? You should be able to view it in "Text Entry" within "System Settings" in Ubuntu

Will do when I'm back home.

My Point about the special characters I mentioned earlier was not that they are physically available on my keyboard but that I can write them by using Alt Gr and Shift modifiers. The Ubuntu key map has a weird default setting for me. (I do in fact have a normal German keyboard too)

If you could also post pictures from the Ubuntu Keymap so I can see what's going on, that would be great, since I can see what the OS interprets each key as because a "German Keyboard" should look exactly the same to the OS as any other keyboard.

Didn't came to play or use my machine yesterday, so my update will be delayed a little bit.
