Looks like in 2.4, mainTable isn't wrapped in dataTables_wrapper anymore.
A quick $(".mainTable").wrap('<div class="dataTables_wrapper" />'); would have been to easy, but didn't work. I guess it needs some more tweaking.

Running 2.4.0 and the version from here on Github appears to be ok. When you say it doesn't work are you getting a JS error in the console?
