I understand that libwacom does affect whether the device works (see Troubleshooting)
Bug description
I'm trying to help my son get his Wacom tablet attached to his new Framework laptop running Linux Mint 22 Cinnamon. It didn't seem to do anything when initially connected to the stock system, so we have installed the latest input-wacom drivers. Now, the tablet appears to connect, according to blueman-manager, but moving the stylus and clicking buttons has not apparent effect.
Notably, libwacom-list-local-devices reports Failed to find any devices known to libwacom.
modinfo wacom | grep version reports we're running v2.0.0-1.3.0 as expected; hitherto, we saw v2.0.0. We don't believe we're running in a secure boot regime but that could be at work.
It seems that there's some reports of problems with this device having an Android mode and a PC mode and confusion about which should work with the linux drivers. We have tried holding the two outermost buttons for a few seconds to toggle between those modes to no effect whatsoever. The modalias line from blueman reports usb:v056Ap0377d0000, which seemed not to be affected by this android/pc nonsense, but who am I to say?
One interesting observation: when we mess with the tablet while blueman is running, the data in/out widget reports an increase in traffic commensurate to the activity, so it seems like the data are being sent to the computer, but are not being handled correctly.
Apologies if this is not the correct venue for this report; I am not new to Linux, but have never messed with tablets before, so I'm a little bit at sea. Please let me know if we can provide any more specific information, and thanks!
