Help to make ver 0.53 talk to ver 0.44

I've implemented two peers, one is on version 0.44, and one in on version 0.53.

Ver 0.44 implementation

Problem encountered

When connecting the two peers, the error encountered is the following

Questions

I tried to substitute the sec layer with plain text in the ver 0.53 as in the first implementation, but there was no chance to do so.
Is there any way to do it?

Secondly, is it actually possible to find a way to make this two version to talk each other?

Yes, I need the version to be those two.
