Error: Unable to locate package seqtk

Hi,

I installed seqtk using the instructions given:

git clone https://github.com/lh3/seqtk.git;
cd seqtk;

I get an error: "Unable to locate package seqtk".

So I tried installing it back but I still got the same error.
I ignored and tried to convert my fastq file into fasta but still get the same error.
I tried remove seqtk but wasn't successful since it said it couldn't locate seqtk.
Can anyone tell me where did I do wrong and how to fix this?

seqtk is not available as a package in the main Ubuntu repositories (I assume you are using Ubuntu).

Also, you forgot to follow the last part of the instructions on the main README for seqtk:

cd seqtk; make

You did cd to the directory with the source, but forgot to run make. After seqtk gets compiled, you can either leave it in that directory and use the full path to run it each time, or copy it to somewhere in your $PATH (eg, /usr/local/bin, ~/.local/bin, etc).
