On a Linux Mint 18.1 system, and (if relevant) using a Dvorak layout.

When defining a word, after keying in a colon, if I don't wait a couple of seconds before doing so, pressing space results in a series of "z" characters . This continues until I interrupt it somehow.

I can't reproduce that in Raspbian Buster on Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.1 (4GB) using English (UK) keyboard layout.

@mobluse I am able to replicate without fail on a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ using a Dvorak layout, but not using a QWERTY layout.

Note that a Dvorak colon is generated as Shift-z. So I think this has to do with latency in keyboard response within xAce. In general, independently of keyboard layout, I find that key presses are lost if one types quickly enough, i.e. at normal speed for me.

I have the same problem on MacOS. Also typing a " (quote) followed by ENTER produces a sequence of p. Perhaps something to do with the use of SHIFT with the first key that affects the xAce internal keyboard state?

To stop the sequence, pressing " again works. Also pressing : again works to stop the z's.

I experienced the problem with quote and a sequence of p:s in Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye) aarch64 on Raspberry Pi 4 Model B Rev 1.4.
