In the readme, where the cryptographic algorithm is described, it would be nice to reference an academic article, where the algorithm is analysed further. Does one exist?

Hello. I am not aware of a formal paper regarding McCallum-Relyea Key Exchange algorithm. In case I find out, I will post it here.

@sarroutbi I would highly appreciate any kind of document, formal proof, etc. for the McCallum-Relyea Key Exchange algorithm. We consider certifying a configuration based on it and are not sure if this could be successful.

After investigating about its existence, it seems no formal document for the McCallum-Relyea Key Exchange exists. In case it helps, here you are some documents that describe the process:
