It seems that recent applications are returned when dockutil is run with the --find option, even if Dock settings are such that recent applications are not shown in the Dock.
This may not be a problem for most use-cases, but I suggest it would be a good idea for the --list not to return the names of recent applications and other items, if they are not shown.
