I tried to install the platform on OS X 10.8, but I'm getting a bunch of errors.

I'm getting stuck at
sudo apt-get install build-essential git-core python python-pip python-dev
(tried both Homebrew and Macports instead of apt-get)

I think I have most of the packages installed, but I can't find an equvalent of "build-essential"

When I run "make install" after the GitHub fetch I get numerous warnings. Mostly related to packages psycopg2 and lxml.

Hi Jens,

we do not support OSX yet with the installation script. We have to set up a proper wiki that documents the installation on various platform. I'll keep you informed!

About build-essential, I guess most of the packages that it provides are already installed if you can run Macoports on your computer:
http://packages.debian.org/fr/sid/build-essential
