Cores are first available to patrons in a beta phase, which typically lasts one or two months. During that time, the FPGA rbf files which program the device are attached to a Patreon post. For MiSTer and Sockit, the files are also uploaded to JTBIN so the script update_all can be used to retrieve them. MiSTer and Sockit require the user to copy the latest jtbeta.zip to their SD folder games/mame.
The jtbeta.zip file is available in the Patreon post where the beta files and also in the #beta-files Discord channel. This file should not be unzipped. Simply copy it to games/mame. This file is only changed three or four times per year. If you unsubscribe from Patreon, disable JTPremium in the update_all configuration or you may lose access to the beta cores you got during your subscription.
