Improve saving data

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
When you save all parameters of a simulation, the csv files generated are extremely large. There should be a better way to save the data to a file in a smaller format.

Describe the solution you'd like
Saving the data into one giant .dat file doesn't seem practical. Maybe there is a different way in hoc to save the data to file, or maybe utilize the python functionality for better file i/o.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Theoretically I can compress and decompress the files as needed.
