Can you make selecting intersecting shapes the default behaviour?

Fantastic product. Is there a setting or configuration option for making the default selection mode of a selection box to be that of intersecting shapes?

I know I can hold down the Alt/Option key, but for my workflow, selection-by-intersection is by far the more efficient mode. Allowing users to toggle which selection mode is the default would be a huge efficiency improvement for some users.
