v3.7.0 Causing Highlighting Problems - Kobo Libra Colour

I started having issues with highlighting after i updated my plugins (KTE and KePub Output) where the highlights would have random gaps in them.

I tried first downgrading my firmware thinking it was the root cause but had no luck.

Then i went and uninstalled v3.7.0 of both plugins and installed v3.6.11 and re-loaded my books onto my kobo and the highlighting issue has disappeared.

I have since also re-installed the latest firmware on my kobo and the highlighting issue has not returned.

Calibre version - 7.21.0
KLC Firmware - 4.41.23145 & 4.40.23081 both tested.
Same issue remained regardless of firmware version which is why i turned to the plugins.

I am temporarily without a Kobo device to test this on. Could you install this updated plugin package and see if it fixes the problem for you?

Thanks. I can try it on my kobo. Is this the same v3.7 or a newer one?

The patch version has been bumped, you can install it as a plugin from local file and calibre will update it.

I tested it on a book I converted and sent over with the updated plugin and while the breaks in highlighting are fixed, the kobo doesn't always recognize highlighting (with stylus or finger) and instead flips to the next or previous page at times when you're trying to highlight and does not highlight. I tested this on v.3.6 and it doesn't replicate the behavior. I will be downgrading again. Thanks for your work though!

I actually have that skipping pages when highlighting issue on v3.6 as well, I just thought it wasn’t related to the gaps in the highlights
For me sometimes when I go to highlight it either doesn’t work, skips a page or highlights correctly then when I go back to that highlight half of it is gone. The last one is most common for me when I highlight over two pages.

Had the same result as magpimag, though as stated above I did have the same problem prior - it’s just a lot more frequent with this patch.
