1. What is your project? (max 100 words)

Coria (previously Catalyst) is an app that offers affordable photo and video storage on your phone. It uses the Filecoin Virtual Machine to backup your media files on the blockchain securely. It also integrates with Polybase to store IPFS hashes efficiently and ENS to display personalized names and avatars. Coria was built with SwiftUI, Node.js, and encryption technologies to provide a seamless and innovative user experience.

2. How will IPFS, Filecoin, or related technology be used for this project? (max 100 words)

  • IPFS: IPFS is used to store and retrieve media files in a decentralized and peer-to-peer manner. Each file is assigned a unique IPFS hash that can be used to access it from any node in the network.
  • Filecoin (FVM): Filecoin is used to backup media file's IPFS hashes regularly on the blockchain using the Filecoin Virtual Machine. This provides a secure and resilient storage solution that ensures data integrity and availability.
  • Polybase: Polybase is used to batch process IPFS hashes and perform on-chain transactions with other IPFS hashes. This reduces the gas costs and improves the efficiency of storing IPFS hashes on the blockchain.

3. How will you improve your project with this grant? What steps will you take to meet this objective? (max 200 words)

  • We will optimize the performance of our app. We will also implement a caching mechanism to reduce the latency and bandwidth consumption of retrieving media files from IPFS and Filecoin.
  • We will enhance the user interface and user experience of our app. We will add more features such as filters, and organisation options. We will also improve the design and layout of our app to make it more intuitive and appealing.
  • We will expand our target audience and reach more users. We will market our app through various channels.

To achieve these objectives, we will take the following steps:

  • We will also seek feedback and guidance from experts and mentors in the IPFS and Filecoin space.
  • We will conduct extensive testing and debugging of our app and contracts. We will also use analytics tools to monitor and improve our app performance and user satisfaction.
  • To launch the app on the App Store, Apple requires us to incorporate a company if the app needs permission for any kind of user data. Therefore, the grant will truly help us in setting things up.
  • We will also solicit feedback and reviews from users and incorporate them into our future updates.
