I find this field is problematic for data providers, as in may cases, we don't really know which is the measurement type needed for assessment.
I understand it is very relevant information. But I think that it doesn't make sense to fill it with the sampling data (and as a mandatory variable). It would be more efficient to have a lookup table with the different measurement types needed for each stock.
Otherwise there will be errors and inconsistencies that will need to be checked in the data provided by different countries.
Thanks

The issue is understandable, if the measurement type is not known for the assessment, then use the FMtypeMeasured. It is a good suggestion to develop a lookup table with measurement types for the stocks.
We have asked WGBIOP to compile a list of BiologicalMeasurementType for the species and they are working on the list, but until there is such a list, it is recommended to use the best BiologicalMeasurementType whether it is known or best guess.
