Long-running tasks should indicate to users that progress is being made. For example, we could show progress bars - but we should also make sure not to spam logfiles with progress bars.

Operations that should be covered:

  • Downloads
  • Interferometry simulations
  • Imaging
  • File format conversions
  • Source detection
  • others?
