It may not be apparent in the messaging you saw, but the issue wasn't locked to prevent discussion, it was moved to discussions. You can see it here now, with all the history: #1790 It is worth noting that this move makes the request significantly more visible, has top-level voting buttons to position it in sort, etc., rather than being in some random spot in the issues tab. I am also unable to unlock and comment since it was moved, but the desktop website makes it very visually clear that it was moved. |

It's sad to see inconvenient requests getting closed and locked. #161 is an open outstanding issue for HA. In fact limiting HA to a single instance is such a limitation that many will start looking for alternatives. Whenever some in a community start playing their power to stop discussions, it's the beginning of a slow decline into irrelevance. Have seen that play out on so many projects over the past 20+ years. Sure hope there is a different way to deal with great input from the community other than locking and closing these discussions.
