Summary

Haystack seems to be unable to open the JSON view of the settings through the UI. The Command Palette and links in the Settings UI both fail to show the editor. Haystack seems to react as though a new editor has been opened (and the titlebar even shows settings.json), but it's not visible anywhere on the canvas or the navigator.

Context

Does this issue occur when all extensions are disabled?: Yes

  • Haystack Version: 0.19.1
VS Code Version: 1.90.0 (user setup)
    Chromium: 122.0.6261.156
    OS: {3 }
  • OS Version: Windows 10 Pro 22H2

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the Settings UI
  2. Find a setting with the link text Edit in settings.json
  3. Click the link

or

  1. Invoke the Command Palette through your preferred method
  2. Type in Preferences: Open User Settings (JSON)
  3. Hit Enter

Must be some OS bug..? - I can't reproduce this with my setup. Nixos + haystack 0.19.1 (appimage).

I'll take a look at this on Windows.

Hmm this works for me even on Windows. Is this still broken for you?

I'll try to replicate it again soon. I'll also try to replicate it on my personal machine (nixos 24.05) as well, and also grab the settings JSON from my work machine to share here to help replicate.
