As a safeguard against abuse. Surfaced on #88. Depends on having a notification mechanism such as #73 or #89.

I would highly recommend up for consideration is something best described as Dropbox's Events page.

Something that shows you a timeline of everything that's changed with your Gittip account. So you can easily recall what you've done, and notice any unusual activity there.

All without having to juggle a bunch of emails from Gittip in your inbox (emails might be fine for notifications of "something happened just now", but not great for figuring out "what has happened over time").

Good call. Unfortunately we have big chunks of our schema that are destructive (ref). We should fix those to enable this. We do have a pretty nice history page for direct transaction history, at least.

+1. We could actually make these notifications opt-in only, and collect email addresses only if a user opts-in.

👍
I would really love to have the timeline of everything that I've done on gittip. I have it in my bank interface and it is giving me a great sense of control.

👍 Just having a simple dashboard like list of dates+events would be lovely

@zwn Have you found your history page? It doesn't have all events but it's a start.

Also, I am having déjà vu.

@whit537 Yes, I have. But that is not what I meant. The history page shows a history of the money transfers (which is great) and it is comparable to account statement from a bank. What I have in my internet banking account is log of all actions I have done. With gittip it would contain events such as using oauth, changing tip amounts, changing profile statement, funding goal, attaching another account etc. So the history is more general, it is more like a log.

@whit537 The discussion on #567 is really close to what I was trying to describe (ie. make the changes into a stream of events and be able to display it).

Yep, basically like Dropbox's Events page.
